Name of Product: C9600 Series Printers

Issue: The recalled printers have the potential for a problem that could result in an electrical shock to consumers. The potential exists for a wire within the printer to be in contact with a rotating motor housing that could result in an electrical short between the motor housing and the wire.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled printer. Do not touch the printer or attempt to turn it off. Unplug the printer immediately by pulling the plug from the wall socket. Once the printer has been unplugged locate the serial number on the back of the printer, on the left hand side. The following serial numbers are included in the recall, that have yet to be identified in the field.

If the C9600 series printer serial number matches the list above, immediate action is required. Oki Data Americas requests that the power cord be removed from the printer and secured in a safe location so no one can turn on the printer until it can be inspect and retrofitted.

NOTE: If any C9600 printer serial number does not match the list above, the unit is fine and no further action is required.
